2.4. Analog 4 - 20 mA Output#
The VX60 surface velocity radar is equipped with an analog 4–20 mA output for integration with PLCs, SCADA systems, and other industrial control equipment. The output is implemented as a 4-wire active current output (not a 2-wire loop-powered type). This means the device provides the current signal directly and requires a separate power supply connection.
The 4–20 mA output must be configured in the device settings to define the linear relationship between the measured velocity and the output current. The user must set:
Minimum measurement value → corresponding to 4 mA
Maximum measurement value → corresponding to 20 mA
The output signal is linearly scaled between these two configured points.
Wiring identification:
Bright red wire – 4–20 mA positive (+)
Purple wire – 4–20 mA negative (–)
During sensor initialization, if low power mode is activated, or during sensor errors (such as tilt angle which is too big), the device will output 0 mA to differentiate between lowest measurement at 4 mA.
