2.3. SDI-12 Interface#

The VX60 also supports the SDI-12 (Serial Data Interface at 1200 baud) protocol, which is widely used in environmental monitoring and hydrological measurement systems. SDI-12 communication enables connection to standard environmental data loggers using a single data line. The protocol supports low-power operation, making it suitable for battery or solar-powered installations.

For SDI-12 communication, connect the black wire (SDI-12 Data) to the SDI-12 data terminal of the data logger and the grey wire (Signal Ground) to the logger’s signal ground (GND).

The instrument supports standard SDI-12 measurement commands as well as extended and custom commands for configuration, diagnostics, and service functions.
